Today I thought I would share a few things with you that I’m so excited for this autumn.

Autumn has to be my favourite season for so many different reasons and I just can’t get enough of it. Here are a couple of things that I’m already starting to incorporate into my daily life and some things that I love to do at the weekends.

Firstly can I just say, walking through multi-coloured, red, orange and brown leaves with my cosy socks and autumn boots is like a dream come true for me. Yes I still love walking along a beach in shorts and cute sandals with my sunnies on in summer, but nothing beats the cosy, warm feeling of September/October walks. One thing I love more than anything is just watching the scenery change. Seeing the leaves fall of the trees and admiring all the pretty colours of the sky in the morning as I walk to school. It just puts me in such a good mood and is the best start to my day. All the pictures in this post were taken around this time last year on my September Autumn Walk 2014.

Now since it will be getting a bit chillier, especially where I live, it’s time to start LAYERING. This is a fashion trend that never changes. Yes, the things you layer may change about from year to year but learning to layer is essential if you want to make it through the end of the year with some cute instagram photos along the way. An outfit you thought didn’t look very good before could end up becoming your favourite go to just by adding a cardigan or a scarf. I love layering so much I often end up running into summer still wearing my scarves and jumpers but hey, layering is an art, don’t be afraid to experiment.

BIG WOOLLY JUMPERS… I always have a cosy jumper at hand all year round but in autumn I go all out. The first thing I do when I come in is bung on a jumper, even if I can’t be bothered to get changed. I own more woolly jumpers than any other clothing item in my entire wardrobe and there’s a reason for that. And this year it isn’t just about the jumpers, big woolly cardigans are all over the place and I’m not complaining.

Time to start stocking up on those candles because if you are anything like me then you will have a candle lit every minute of every day. I love candles all year round but there is just something about an autumn scent that makes me feel all warm inside. I’ve never been a fan of Christmas scents so I always stock up on the summer into autumn candles to last me through the Christmas months.  Plus I’m a bit of a pyromaniac so fire is my thing.

Bubble baths are all the rage for me on a cold frosty night. Having a hot bath in summer really isn’t the best and it just doesn’t feel the same when it’s already quite warm outside. Where as in autumn you get to add all the bubbles and add in the Christmas and Halloween themed bath bombs from Lush. This is also my ultimate relaxation tip to just sit back and think or read a book. Sometimes I even sneak in an episode of my favourite show at the moment.

Hope you’re all as excited for autumn as I am. What are your favourite autumn essentials?

  1. I’m looking forward to getting the boots and woolly socks back out! I love boots; summer footwear just doesn’t even come close. I have far too many pairs of boots but love finding the right boot for the right outfit and adding some cosy, chunky socks to complete it. As you said, autumn walks in cosy boots are just perfect!
